Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 9, 2026
01. Introduction
Welcome to Easy Impostor. We value your privacy and are dedicated to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you play our game.
02. Camera & Media Permissions
Easy Impostor requests camera and photo library access for the following purposes:
- Room Access via QR Code
The camera is used exclusively to scan QR codes provided by other players, allowing you to quickly and securely join a game room. The camera is never used for capturing photos or videos.
- Report Evidence Attachments
When submitting a bug report or player report, you may optionally attach up to 3 images or 1 video (max 20 MB / 30 seconds) as evidence. These files are selected from your device's photo library (gallery) — the camera is not used for this purpose. Files are uploaded to our servers (Firebase Storage) and stored as part of the report record. Attachments are strictly voluntary — the app will always warn you not to include personal or identifiable information.
03. Microphone Usage & Permissions
Easy Impostor uses microphone access for two distinct features:
While in the game lobby, you can record and send voice messages to other players. These audio recordings are uploaded to our servers (Firebase Storage) and stored as part of the game's record. Voice messages are accessible to members of that specific room.
During the voting phase of the game, real-time voice chat is available via LiveKit. Voice chat operates as a push-to-talk system — you must press and hold a button to transmit your voice. Audio from voice chat is streamed in real-time and is not recorded or stored on our servers.
Privacy Assurance: Real-time voice chat during voting is streamed peer-to-peer and never recorded.
Voice messages in the lobby are stored on our servers to maintain game records and facilitate moderation.
04. Data Collection & Providers
We collect minimal information to provide our services:
- Third-Party Services (Firebase): We use Google Firebase for our backend. Firebase may collect baseline diagnostic and usage data (like IP addresses and crash logs) to maintain game stability.
- Third-Party Services (LiveKit): We use LiveKit for real-time voice communication during the voting phase. LiveKit processes voice data in real-time to facilitate communication and does not store audio recordings.
- Profile Personalization:
- Accounts: When you first open the app, an account is automatically created for you with a generated email address, a random display name, and a random avatar from our database. You may later optionally link your account to Google or Apple for convenience.
- Names: We store the randomly generated name assigned at account creation. If you link your account to Google or Apple, you may choose to use the display name from that provider instead.
- Avatars: Your initial avatar is randomly selected from our pre-set database of illustrations. You can also generate custom avatars using AI (Google GenAI) through a paid credit system. If you link your account to Google, you may choose to use your Google profile picture (Apple does not provide profile pictures). No personal photos are uploaded or processed unless you explicitly choose to use your Google profile picture.
- Gameplay Statistics: We track anonymous win/loss records and gameplay actions to calculate your ranking.
- Chat Messages: Text messages and voice messages sent in the lobby chat are stored in our database (Firestore) and cloud storage (Firebase Storage). This data is kept to allow players to review the game history and to facilitate our reporting and moderation systems.
05. AI-Powered Features
Easy Impostor uses Google Generative AI (GenAI) for the following features:
- AI Avatar Generation
You can generate custom avatars using AI through a paid credit system. Style preferences are sent to Google GenAI to produce the image. Generated avatars go through content moderation before being made available. No personal data is sent to the AI service — only style parameters.
- AI Game Content Generation
Game words and images used during gameplay may be generated by AI based on category and language settings. No personal player data is used in the generation process.
06. User-Generated Content & Reporting
Easy Impostor includes communication features where users can interact:
- Lobby Chat (Text & Audio): Players can send text and voice messages while in the game lobby. All players in the room can view and listen to these messages.
- Voice Chat (Voting Phase): Players can communicate via real-time voice during voting. This is a push-to-talk system.
- Reporting System: Players can report inappropriate messages or other players directly from the app. Reports may optionally include image or video attachments as evidence (up to 3 images or 1 video, max 20 MB / 30 s). The app displays a privacy warning before any media is attached, advising users not to include personal or identifiable content. All report data is stored in our database and cloud storage for moderation review.
- Content Moderation: We do not currently have automated content moderation for voice chat during voting. However, we reserve the right to ban or suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service based on reports received.
07. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide you with the game services:
- Chat messages and voice messages are stored as part of the game history and for moderation purposes.
- User profiles and statistics are retained until you request deletion.
- Reports are retained for moderation purposes and may be kept for a reasonable period.
To request data deletion, contact us at jang94uruguay@gmail.com or use Settings > Profile > Delete Account in-app. We will process your request within a reasonable timeframe.
08. Children's Privacy
Easy Impostor is designed for a general audience. Our game does not collect age information, date of birth, or any other data that would allow us to identify the age of our players.
When you first open the app, an account is automatically created with a generated email, a random name, and a random avatar — no real personal information is collected at this stage. If you later choose to link your account to Google or Apple, we may receive the display name (and profile picture from Google only) associated with that provider. We do not knowingly collect or target information from children under the age of 13.
If you discover that your child has shared information with us, please contact us at jang94uruguay@gmail.com. Since we do not track ages, we rely on your communication to identify and remove any such data.
09. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including Firebase Security Rules and encrypted connections. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
11. Contact & Support
If you have concerns about your privacy or how we handle your data, please reach out to us directly via email.
